GUILLAUME PONCELET

French composer, producer and musician, Guillaume Poncelet was born in 1978 and has built his successful career working with Stevie Wonder, Earth Wind & Fire, MC Solaar, Michel Jonasz, Zaz, C2C, Thomas Azier, Gaël Faye, Ben Mazué, Ayo… to name a few.
Producing successful albums for Ben L’Oncle Soul and Gaël Faye, while being influenced by the American collective Soulquarians (The Roots, D’Angelo, Q-Tip, J Dilla…), he became a rising force in the emergence of the French soul-jazz hip-hop scene.
In January 2018, the pianist and trumpet player released his first album 88, entirely recorded on upright piano. His mind was set on releasing something very different to what is known of him. Back to basics. Simple music but not simplistic. Guillaume’s ambition is to offer a sensitive visual journey to listeners, while enabling them to relate to the music in their own way. Note that Guillaume signed the soundtrack of Razzia, Nabil Ayouch’s 2018 feature film.

DURANGO
Through a deliberately minimalist, resolutely modern music, the high-end instrumentalist and composer reveals a sensibility on the edge, rooted in the heritage of great European composers such as Maurice Ravel, Gustav Mahler or Philip Glass. In constant search of new sounds, he continues this solo adventure with his second album, Durango, the name of the studio near Paris where he has been working for a few years.
HAVEN EP
After his singles Peyo and Souls, French pianist Guillaume Poncelet presents his new EP Haven, consisting of five new compositions with muted ambiances, in which the pianist keeps on exploring the sphere of minimalist neo-classical music with deep and subtle nuances.

Guillaume Poncelet’s first album is a collection of beautifully crafted and elegant piano compositions, cinematic and delicate. It is now available on digipack CD with two bonus tracks featuring Thomas Azier and Gaël Faye.
